For the launch of the new Adidas Nemeziz boots we have created a parametrical sculpture that is a physical representation of motion, speed and agility, a celebration of a high performance athlete like Leo Messi.
We have turn the trace of Messi’s body position during one of its most iconics plays into a real size sculpture made of the same fabric Nemeziz boots are made from: the Nemeziz Strap. The result is a sculptural shape showcasing the agility, speed, change of movement and direction, turn into a beautiful shape: a visualization of one of the Messi most iconic goals.
To archive this we choose one of the Messi most emblematic goals: Champions league semifinal 14-15 against Bayer Munich. Then we retrieved the volumetric space of Messi’s run by using 3D software to analyse & create a 3D trail of his body during the play.
The model was sliced into 400 vertical cross-sections that were CNC cut to create wooden “ribs”. These ribs created the support and the framework for the Nemeziz bands to be stretched across.
This parametrical sculptures was showcased for 3 days under the London Eye, and has been highlighted as one of the top 5 creative ideas by AdAge
