‘Date More Human' visualises the awkwardness of first dates, especially through dating apps, by capturing an actual conversation between two robots trying to make small talk. It inspires audiences not to date like bots and make human connections.
The entire script has been made using artificial intelligence. Different chatbots were trained with conversations based on real dating conversations. Artificial intelligence learned how to break the ice, how to flirt, and how to have a hot conversation ... The final result is as fascinating as it is awkward.
This project produce by 1stAveMachine in collaboration with Marc Reisbig, for the agency Mekanism and the client Jose Cuervo who wanted to send a friendly reminder to keep your dating app DMs interesting. You're not a bot. Don't date like one.
How did we do it?
- We initially collected hundreds of real conversations between "human" people using a crowdsourcing platform. We initially collected hundreds of real conversations between "human" people using a crowdsourcing platform. We create common situations that have all happened to us on the first date with a stranger. For example, you are in a bar and you want to break the ice, what would you say? Or you are attracted to the other person but it is extremely boring and you want to skip the smalltalk and go straight to the "desserts"
- With all this information we trained different chatbots using deep learning. To enrich the knowledge of chatbots we combined dating conversations with other databases containing thousands of TV series general conversations.
- Once the chatbots are trained, we generate hundreds of conversations between them. Each of the chatbots had its own personal, tastes, and pretensions. Thanks to the power of artificial intelligence we were able to experiment with multiple situations.
- From all the conversations we choose some moments to make the final script. The conversation was played by the humanoid robots of engineered arts
